Wall Ball Dedication at SRS!

On May 20th the new SRS Wall Ball court was dedicated and officially opened to the students of SRS!  Thomas Sullivan gave a wonderful speech thanking everyone who made this project happen and also a little background information on the game of wall ball.

The Sullivan, Kell & DiBonaventura kids post with Joel Smith! So many families contributed their time, funds and expertise to this project!

This project was first suggested to Home & School in October 2013.  The painted designs allow for more options of play such as targeted throwing, math games and for the younger students learning shapes, numbers and colors.

Thank you to everyone that made this request a reality, including:

– Sandra Sullivan, who spent many hours working with the school, contractors and Swarthmore Borough to make this project happen.

-Bob Jenkins and Joel Smith from Boedco, a local contracting company, donated the labor and the building permit fee!

– Home & School and SRS contributed the materials used for the project!

– Courtney Page and her husband, Todd Smith, donated the concrete and the dedication plaque to Boedco!

– Sandra Sullivan, Trisha Kell and Tracy DiBonaventura, spent a week painting all the designs on both sides of the wall ball!

The first ball is thrown!

Beams that stretch from inside out

Make your inner Lloyd Wright shout!

Clerestory windows bring

Soft light to warm up everything.

Built-in bookshelves, views from above,

To see it is to fall in love!

Gorgeous original millwork can be found throughout this home. Can you see the maple from Clue #1 through the window?
